Austria – A Diamond for Everyone

When the talent of a man finds true vent, the outcome is always dazzling. Here when I say ‘dazzling’ I literally mean the eye-catching, extraordinary sparkle that leaves anyone and everyone overwhelmed and dazed. And the man here I am talking about is none other than Daniel Swarovski, the man who gave the world a glitzy affair to fall in love with.

Today the name and fame of ‘Swarovski’ are widespread and well known. The brilliance of Swarovski has spread far and wide to touch every corner of the world. Born to a humble family of glass cutters, Daniel popularized an affordable gem for all. Swarovski found its home in Austria and then went on to spread its sparkle throughout the world.

The snow-covered peaks of the Alps, bordering the periphery of the small village Wattans, Austria, house the world-known crystal glass company named after its founder Swarovski. With tickets priced at EUR 19 for adults and EUR 7.50 for children, it is a must-visit for all ages. The museum with its store is open throughout the week from 8.30 AM to 7.30 PM.

Often there are festivals of music and dance held to entertain the visitors. The sprawling garden is a fusion of artistic mind and natural beauty. On one hand, you will find carefully manicured gardens on the other creative man-made sculptures. There is a soothing blend of contemporary and modern art forms. Art in its true sense finds its voice in every nook and corner of this place.

It is hard to miss the iconic emerald Giant with water gushing out of its mouth in a form of a fountain. Built not very long ago in 1995 this Giant symbolizes the very place. The realm of the Giant is a world of fantasy unto itself. The fiery red pond beneath the Giant forms an extraordinary bright contrast. André Heller, the creator of the Giant had a fascinating legend associated with the structure. According to the legend the Giant had set out to wander and experience all the worldly treasures, but he chose to settle down at this very place to watch over the Chambers of Wonders.

Dreams and imaginations of the world’s greatest artists transcended into sixteen miracle rooms or Chamber of Wonders as famously known. Each room is as fascinating as their names like Silent Light, Ice Passage, Ready to Love, etc. of the timeless beauty of crystalline masterpieces. Walking down from one room to the other, it is easy to get caught up in the magic of the place. Each room tells a story that will mesmerize all.

At the end of the walk through the stunning chambers, visitors will find themselves in a large store, where crystal merchandise is sold. Affordable, unique in design, and with a touch of that bling that easily catches everyone’s eyes, Swarovski is indeed a ‘Diamond for everyone!
