Your destination is defined by many things and one of them is its people. People whom you come across, you connect and you engage with. But how many of you keep that connection intact even after your return? Unfortunately, most of us don’t but then if you do you will realize that it is because of these people your travel to that place was worth it.
“Hai medam this is suresh autowala form kalburgi when u upload the video.”
It was about two weeks that I was back from a weekend getaway from Bidar and Kalburgi in Karnataka, suddenly these exact words popped up on my text message. My eyes lit up immediately.
Suresh bhai. Unassuming simple and just any other common man you may happen to pass on the street. He was a random autowala whom we had booked to take us around the city of Kalburgi. We had practically hailed him from the busy city square and asked if he could take us around. After some initial negotiation on his fares, he agreed to very reasonable pricing.
Sometimes when I wonder if these travel writings are even worth it, such messages actually come with a promise, reminding me that there is someone somewhere waiting to read my work.
As we happily rode around his bright blue auto, we kept chatting about so many things. His job, his work, his family etc. While talking to him I happened to mention to him about my travel blogging and sort. I promised him I will write about him. (FYI by video I guess he means the one for my YouTube, which will come soon for sure). I have always felt that it is because of connecting with people like Suresh bhai my travel gets more enriched and enhanced. He made sure we had our best time in Kalburgi. So, if you ever happen to be in Kalburgi, do not hesitate to call up Suresh bhai on +91 9480106265.
I know two things. I love to travel and I love to write. And it is such stories of Suresh bhai that allow me to churn up a storm on my keyboard without wasting too much time thinking about what to write. These people come with readymade stories.
